Spurs’ best player wanted to join United.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that he didn’t get the move he wanted this summer, when asked about transfer interest from Manchester United.

The French international has long been regarded as one of the finest shot-stoppers in the Premier League, and is likely to have made the move to Old Trafford if David de Gea had left for Real Madrid.

According to the Metro, Lloris has strongly hinted he has regrets that the move fell through, saying: “There could have been a development there but the desired movement didn’t happen.

“I have a lot of affection for Tottenham. I feel respected, I have a very good relationship with the staff and I’m ready to play the best season possible.”
