Barcelona star to be offered £500K-A-WEEK deal amid Manchester United interest

Barcelona star Neymar is set to be offered a £500,000-a-week deal to keep him at the Nou Camp amid interest from Manchester United, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The Blaugrana are keen to work out the contract by Christmas, which will apparently be worth £150 million over six years. The lucrative offer could make the 23-year-old the second highest paid footballer in the world, behind teammate Lionel Messi.

This is to ward off interest from the Red Devils, who were linked with a late move for the Brazil international in the last transfer window. This could end up being a very similar situation to that of Real Madrid ace Sergio Ramos. The 29-year-old was heavily linked to Old Trafford earlier in the summer, but ended up signing a contract extension at the Bernabeu amid allegations he used the links to his advantage [Manchester Evening News].
