What!? Liverpool fans name child YNWA after Anfield anthem

A pair of Norwegian Liverpool fans have named their newborn child YNWA after the club’s song, reports the Metro.

The baby girl is named after ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, which supporters sing at Anfield before every home game. The couple had originally joked about the monicker, but things became more serious following complications with her birth.

An emergency caesarean was needed, and the child nearly died in the process. Happily, she pulled through, and the dad decided on the name while talking to her during her recovery. The heartwarming backstory does make the potentially embarrassing name more understanding.

This isn’t the first time that parents have taken inspiration from their football team when naming their child. Back in 2011, a pair of Burnley fans named their kid after every member of the first team at the time [Daily Mail]. The full name was Jensen Jay Alexander Bikey Carlisle Duff Elliot Fox Iwelumo Marney Mears Paterson Thompson Wallace Preston, which might actually be slightly worse than YNWA!
