Ligue 1 side PSG failed with a massive £110m bid for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo according to Globo Esporte (via ESPN).

The big-spending Parc des Princes side may well be encouraged to repeat the offer next summer with this source claiming that Portuguese international may become available at the end of the current campaign.

The 30-year-old forward is seen as a possible replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic with the Swede said to be likely to leave PSG at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

Ronaldo has of course proven a massive success since his 2009 move to Real Madrid but it’s worth noting that whilst the former Man United man has been virtually unstoppable on an individual basis, his Spanish side have not enjoyed the best of times of it.

Over the course of his six completed seasons at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has seen his side win one La Liga titles and a Champions League triumph, and the tally of just two major honours in his time in the Spanish capital is not a true reflection of just how much the forward has given to the cause.

Cristiano Ronaldo has amassed an astonishing 313 goals in 302 appearances for Real Madrid and a move to PSG could tempt the three time Ballon d’Or winner, especially if Rafa Benitez fails to secure major silverware this term.
