Manchester United: Star man wants Old Trafford turnaround after international showing

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is hoping that his international showing with Spain can help him re-establish himself at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old is yet to feature for the Red Devils this season due, in no small part, to an ongoing transfer saga linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

Even on transfer deadline day, it appeared as though the keeper would complete a move to the Bernabeu, but the clubs were unable to get themselves in order and see through the deal.

The keeper now faces at least four months more at Old Trafford, before potentially moving in January or possibly next summer.

The option of remaining in the north-west beyond the 2015-16 is one that has also been mooted.

Facing an immediate future under Louis van Gaal, the keeper has insisted that he can enjoy some success…presumably at United.

“I felt so good,” De Gea began, speaking to reporters after La Roja’s 1-0 victory over Macedonia [via Goal].

“I hope that I now have some good fortune also with my club.
