News of Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini being named as the Barclays Premier League manager of the month for August has been a hot topic for conversation on social media.
The Chilean has guided the Citizens to the top of the table after four straight victories in August including a convincing 3-0 success over reigning league champions Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium and news of his achievement was announced on Friday morning.
What has been more impressive about last season’s runners-up is that they are yet to concede a goal in this campaign and are now many pundits favourites to be crowned champions of England for the third time in five seasons come May.
Next for Pellegrini’s side is a tricky test against second-placed Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon as they look to avenge their 2-1 defeat in the corresponding fixture last season.
