Arsenal are said to be prioritising the signing of Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco in the Januaruy transfer window, according to sources in Spain.

The 23-year-old is not currently first choice in Rafael Benitez’s side, with summer signing Mateo Kovacic looking like pushing the Spaniard down in the pecking order.

Arsenal have shown an interest in Isco in the past, and Fichajes.net reports that he is firmly on Arsene Wenger’s agenda for the winter, with the Gunners in need of strengthening in attack.

Although Wenger already has plenty of options in the creative midfield department, he could arguably do with an upgrade on the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil.
