Barcelona to use Luis Suarez as mediator in move for Liverpool star

Barcelona are reportedly keen on Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho and will look to use forward Luis Suarez as a mediator in their pursuit of the Brazilian according to Spanish source Fichajes.

The 23-year-old Anfield star has matured into one of the best creative talents in the Premier League and his move to Merseyside has re-ignited a career that was stagnating at Inter Milan.

Brendan Rodgers would be loathed to lose Coutinho but should his side once again fail to secure a Champions League berth then there is a very real possibility the attacking midfielder would consider his future.

In the summer of 2014 Liverpool were unable to keep Luis Suarez from moving to the Nou Camp and this summer Raheem Sterling completed a £49m move to Man City, Coutinho could very easily be the next talent to leave in order to meet his ambitions.

Liverpool paid just £8.5m for Coutinho back in January 2013 and would expect a much higher sum for the player now but Rodgers would surely fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the playmaker.

Coutinho recently signed a new long term contract in February that ties him to Liverpool until 2020.
