Chelsea star reveals confidence crisis in the squad following TERRIBLE start to the new season

Chelsea midfielder Oscar admits confidence has dropped following the club’s poor start to the new season, Mail Sport reports.

The Blues are 11 points behind current Premier League leaders Manchester City after just five games and could fall even further behind if they fail to pick up all three points against Arsenal in the huge London derby at the weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side warmed up for the clash against the Gunners with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Macabbi Tel-Aviv in their Champions League opener on Wednesday night and there were encouraging signs that the west London outfit were beginning to show some of their best form.

Oscar netted his second goal of the campaign as he converted a penalty against the Israeli outfit and he admits a victory against Arsenal will kick-start their campaign:

“Everyone has been sad before the games before we haven’t won and we need to win,” he told reporters.

“Everyone has not been confident before the games, because of our run we changed a little bit.”

“We have won against Maccabi, but we haven’t played well in the Premier League but we need to win against Arsenal as well.”

The Brazilian has also backed the Blues to mount a challenge for the title this season, but hinted that they simply can’t afford to drop many more points:

We have not lost the title. It’s so early. Last season we were nine or 10 points in front of Manchester City; but in January City had the same points.”

“We need to come back strong now. We need to try again, to try to win the title,” Oscar added.
