REMARKABLE stat shows that Man City should have been expecting West Ham magic

West Ham United are believed to have spent an arm and a leg for Dimitri Payet, and after his play through six weeks it’s clear they got a pretty good pair of them in return.

Following a Victor Moses goal with a Payet assist against Manchester City – the first one the Citizens have allowed in the whole BPL season – Squawka revealed a stunning stat about Payet.

Apparently, by virtue of his three goals and two assists, Payet has had a hand (or rather a foot) in over FORTY PERCENT of the Hammers’ scoring output this season.

Considering that West Ham are second in scoring this season that’s a simply remarkable stat – and one that will probably earn the Citizens a serious finger-wagging from Manuel Pellegrini if they can’t catch up.

As for Payet, the stats certainly fall in line with what Payet has been capable of in the past. Since 2008 between stints with Saint-Etienne, Lille and Marseille, Payet has 52 goals and two double-digit goal seasons.

It’s fair to say that kind of production is why West Ham was so keen to sign the 28-year-old Frenchman.
