Ligue 1 side Marseille are keen on free agent forward Emmanuel Adebayor according to talkSPORT.

The 31-year-old Togo international was released from his Tottenham contract earlier this month and can be picked up for nothing and by all accounts the former Arsenal and Man City man is still harbouring hope of a Premier League move with Aston Villa said to be keen.

A move for Adebayor would in all likelihood require an prospective interested party having to fork out a wage of around £100k a week but given the experienced marksman would cost nothing, then perhaps that level of an outlay would be acceptable?

Marseille sit down in 15th spot in Ligue 1 this term but have not struggled for goals, Michel’s side scoring ten goals in five fixtures, and as such perhaps do not urgently need a fresh striking option?

Adebayor has amassed 96 goals in 225 Premier League appearances.
