Ex-Premier League striker has only started one game…

Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is already unhappy and unsettled at new club Fenerbahce, having been left on the bench for their latest game.

Injury prone for much of the earlier part of his career, Van Persie also struggled for fitness in his final season at Old Trafford, during which he didn’t feature regularly and fell out of favour with his manager.

Now the highest paid player at Fenerbahce, the 31-year-old is not content with being left on the bench, and is quoted in the Daily Express as saying: “I was not happy that I started on the bench. I am fully fit, physically very well and able to play for 90 minutes.”

Incredibly, Van Persie has only started one game out of five for Fenerbahce so far this season, though the Turkish giants are flying high in the table after a great start, so may feel little need to change things.
