Barcelona to drop transfer interest in Arsenal & Liverpool pair to pursue La Liga sensation

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are set to make turn their reported interest in Nolito into a concrete bid for the Celta Vigo forward during the January transfer market.

The attacker has almost single-handedly led his side to the top of the Spanish table so far this season, having scored five goals in five matches to date.

He shone against the Catalan giants earlier this week, as Luis Enrique’s side fell to a rare (and crushing) 4-1 defeat, and looks set to become one of the stars of the season.

Mundo Deportivo [via Le 10 Sport] report that the attacker is set to join the Nou Camp heavyweights during the January transfer window as a replacement for Rafinha, who will miss many months of action due to injury.

Barca’s decision to opt for Nolito will surely lead to an end to speculation linking high-profile Premier League players Theo Walcott and Philippe Coutinho with a move to join the European champions.

Both have been linked with a move to Catalonia in recent weeks, although neither can demonstrate the kind of recent form that has set Nolito apart from his peers in Spain.
