Prem stars offered ‘extra mushrooms’ if they can stop Arsenal from scoring

Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri is up to his old tricks again ahead of the Foxes’ weekend Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

The East Midlands outfit have been the surprise package of the EPL season so far, and are the only team, after six matches, to remain unbeaten.

So far, Leicester have won three of their matches, and drawn three, and are currently the joint highest-scoring team in the top flight (along with West Ham United).

While the inspirational Riyad Mahrez has been in unstoppable form up front, the side have been much less convincing defensively. Indeed, in only six matches, they have already conceded nine goals.

Putting that into context, no other side inside the top half have conceded more, while only three clubs (Norwich City, Chelsea and Sunderland) have let in more than the Foxes.

Their defensive failings are clearly bothering coach Ranieri, who has urged his side to improve at the back ahead of their weekend meeting with Arsenal.

Bizarrely, the experienced Italian coach has followed on from his promise of offering his team pizzas should they keep a clean sheet by insisting that he’ll even splash out on extra toppings if they can keep the Gunners at bay.

“And if they stop Arsenal from scoring, they can have extra toppings. Maybe extra mushrooms,” the coach joked, speaking to the press ahead of the weekend’s clash [as per the Mirror].
