Alexis Sanchez didn’t just beat down previously undefeated Leicester City with his hat trick for Arsenal on Saturday, he etched his name into the history books.
After failing to score in Arsenal’s first half-dozen games of the season, Sanchez made up for lost time with a domineering performance that included a shocking hat trick against one of the highest scoring teams in the league.
But it was Infostrada Sports that noticed that Sanchez’s hat trick wasn’t only his first since joining Arsenal in 2014, it was the first time that a single player had scored a hat trick in all three of UEFA’s biggest leagues:
Alexis Sanchez is the FIRST player to score a HAT-TRICK in England, Spain and Italy’s top flight leagues. @Arsenal

Thanks to prior stints with Udinese Calcio in Serie A and Barcelona in La Liga, the Chilean superstar became the first player in history to register a hat trick in three of the biggest football nations in the world. Speaking of his country of origin, Sanchez simultaneously became the first Chilean in Premier League history to register a hat trick.
LEI 1-4 ARS (85′) – Hat-trick for Alexis. He’s the EIGHTH South American and FIRST Chilean to score 3 goals in the Premier League

And at age 26, Sanchez may have many more hat tricks on the way…! Perhaps defences in France and Germany had better be wary of his arrival as he looks to complete the set!
Arsenal would go on to win the match 5-2, handing the Foxes their first defeat of the campaign.
