Stamford Bridge side chase World Cup hero.

Chelsea are reportedly taking a keen interest in FC Porto attacker Yacine Brahimi according to Italian source TuttoMercato.

Jose Mourinho has seen his side struggle in the defence of their Premier League title, losing three of their opening seven Premier League fixtures and sitting down in 15th place in the table, and the Blues boss is now apparently considering a January move for Algerian international Brahimi.

The flair player impressed many with his showing in the 2014 World Cup finals, his efforts leading to a move from Spanish side Granada to Primeira Liga giants FC Porto last summer.

Brahimi has proven a big success since moving to Portugal, scoring 12 goals in his debut season, and this source claims his FC Porto contract includes a rather inflated €60m (£44m) release clause.

Mourinho’s Chelsea side take on Brahimi’s FC Porto in Champions League action on Tuesday night and this will hand the 25-year-old a chance to woo his prospective suitors.
