Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has backed right-back Hector Bellerin to become a regular in the Spanish national team set-up within two years, ahead of the likes of Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta and La Liga pair Juanfran and Dani Carvajal, according to the Metro.
20-year-old Gunners starlet Bellerin has made the right-back berth at the Emirates Stadium his own, making the most of Mathieu Debuchy’s length injury spell, and is now one of the best in the position in the Premier League.
Fellow Spaniard Arteta believes the former Barcelona man can continue to progress in the role and expect big things from the attack minded full-back.
‘I knew two years ago that he had the ability to be first choice at Arsenal and I can’t see any better right-backs in the next two years in Spain,’ said Arteta.
‘I know Hector and if he makes the right decisions in the next few months, I think he’s going to have a chance.’
Bellerin moved to Arsenal in the summer of 2011 and has made 35 appearances for the Premier League side.
