Bayern Munich face Dinamo Zagreb in Champions League action on Tuesday night and club captain Philipp Lahm has revealed his surprise that fellow Group F side Arsenal lost to their Croatian opponents earlier this month according to Goal.com.
The Gunners defeat to Dinamo Zagreb was something of a surprise and makes Arsenal’s fixture with Olympiakos a ‘must-win’ clash.
Lahm admitted he didn’t expect the North London side to fall to lowly opposition, stating;
“The defeat of Arsenal in Zagreb really surprised me. At first I thought it was a mistake!
“Dinamo are very comfortable at home,” the utility defensive veteran told Jutarnji List. “They have a good group of fans, they’re difficult to defeat.
“Dinamo will play extremely defensively, the defensive wall will be stronger than when you play a typical game. Dinamo will try to play on the counterattack.” Lahm added.
Bayern Munich have started the current campaign in explosive fashion with Pep Guardiola’s side winning seven out of seven Bundesliga fixtures, scoring 23 goals in the process, and started their Champions League campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Olympiakos.
