Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: We were punished for two ridiculous mistakes

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was left to reflect on what might have been following his side’s narrow defeat away at FC Porto on Tuesday night.

Mourinho saw his side undone by a couple of defensive errors that led to the Blues losing 2-1 in their Champions League tie in Portugal though on the whole the Chelsea manager was encouraged by the display according to the Daily Mirror.

“I think it was a good performance with two ridiculous mistakes, and sometimes you make that kind of mistake and you are not punished. Tonight we were punished.” Mourinho began

“The second goal, for us it’s a ridiculous mistake. We watch dozens and dozens of repititions of Porto taking corners. I thought we were completely ready for that.”

“And in a moment when the game was under control and we were preparing a change, to concede that goal. We had another similar mistake when they hit the post, but apart from that I think the performance was balanced.”

“Defensively we had no problems and the defenders played well. Two ridiculous mistakes and we were punished for them.” The Chelsea man concluded.
