Man United plot move for world-class midfielder Toni Kroos: Real Madrid man unsettled at the Bernabeu

Manchester United are readying a move for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos amid speculation that the World Cup winner is ‘worried about his role’ at the Bernabeu under new boss Rafa Benitez according to Fichajes via the Metro.

The 25-year-old left Bayern Munich for the Spanish capital last summer and was unable to prevent Carlo Ancelotti’s side from losing both their Champions League and Copa del Rey crowns, whilst moving no nearer to securing a La Liga title, leading ultimately to the Italian boss being axed.

However talk of Kroos being unsure of his future under Benitez is perhaps hard to fathom given the German international has started seven of Real Madrid’s eight La Liga and Champions League fixtures this term and certainly looks a key member of the former Liverpool manager’s plans.

Though Kroos would offer Louis van Gaal some added quality in the centre of the park it is worth noting that the Man United boss has a fair few options at present though clearly both Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger are in the latter stages of their respective careers and as such the cultured Real Madrid star could be seen as a long-term option to patrol the Old Trafford midfield.
