Man United boss demands Old Trafford board signs £30m Premier League attacker

Man United boss Louis van Gaal has demanded his Old Trafford board captures £30m rated Southampton forward Sadio Mane according to the Daily Express.

The 23-year-old Senegal international moved to St Mary’s in the summer of 2014 and scored ten goals in 24 Premier League starts in his debut campaign in the English top tier and has continued to impress this season.

The strong running attacker has scored twice in seven Premier League starts in 2015/16 and is the south-coast club’s leading assist maker, having laid on for four goals thus far, and is seemingly a player van Gaal is keen to get his hands on.

Man United are believed to have failed with a £25m bid for Mane over the summer and van Gaal will push his side into making a fresh offer when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Van Gaal will have been impressed with the efforts of teenage signing Anthony Martial but fellow summer signing Memphis Depay hasn’t made much in the way of an impact whilst captain Wayne Rooney’s form in Premier League action has been patchy to say the least and as such the addition of a player like Mane may be a sensible option to consider.
