Arsenal are set to hand Chilean Alexis Sanchez a new contract that will see his earnings soar past those of Mesut Ozil, the North London club’s current top earner, according to the Daily Mail.
26-year-old Sanchez enjoyed a superb debut season at the Emirates Stadium, scoring 25 goals in all competitions, and though the former Barcelona man started the current campaign in lethargic fashion due to his summer involvement at the Copa America finals, the South American has recently shown a real return to form.
Sanchez failed to score in his opening eight matches of the season but has since scored six goals in three appearances, including a superb hat-trick against Leicester City and a brace in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Man United.
Arsenal will reward Alexis with a new deal that will see his current £130k a week salary push up past the £140k a week handed to Ozil.

However Ozil will then be handed a new deal himself, which will once again see the former Real Madrid man lead the way in terms of club’s balance sheet.
