Liverpool to sell £57m pair who do not suit Jurgen Klopp’s style of play

Former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore believes Jurgen Klopp will look to offload Christian Benteke and Adam Lallana as he seeks to put his stamp on the Anfield squad he has inherited according to the Metro.

Collymore feels Klopp’s brand of high-intensity football, or ‘full-throttle’ style as it has become known, doesn’t suit either Benteke and Lallana and believes the pair, who cost Liverpool £57m between them, could be on their way to an Anfield exit before too long.

Klopp has taken over as Liverpool manager following the sacking of Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers, who was in charge for three and a half years, and it would be fair to say that fans of the Merseyside outfit are optimistic that the former Borussia Dortmund man can help guide the club back towards the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Rodgers spent in the region of £70m on new signings over the summer but the lion’s share of that outlay was covered by funds accrued from the sale of Raheem Sterling to Man City and as such Klopp can expect a decent transfer fund boost for the January transfer window.
