Long-term Arsenal target has made crucial decision about his future

PSG forward Edinson Cavani is set to stay at the Parc des Princes for the long-term, all but ending Arsenal’s ongoing efforts to lure the Uruguayan to the Emirates Stadium according to the Metro.

The 28-year-old South American had been disheartened by his continued use in a wide-attacking role by PSG boss Laurent Blanc but it appears superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to leave the Ligue 1 side next summer, leaving Cavani able to become the club’s main main up front.

Arsene Wenger is known to court Cavani but has failed to tempt the former Napoli man to leave for North London, fortunately for the Arsenal manager England man Theo Walcott has begun to deliver the goods for both club and country whilst Chilean Alexis Sanchez has been back in the goals with Olivier Giroud on hand to offer a strong back-up option.

Cavani has scored regularly wherever he has pitched up, his 104 goals in three seasons in Naples led to his move to Paris, and despite his supporting strike role the powerful marksman has still managed to net 64 goals in 106 appearances.
