Aston Villa plan ambitious move for Real Madrid forward in January

Aston Villa are set to become the latest club to display an interest in Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez and will throw their hat into the ring to prize him away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the new year, according to the Metro.

The Metro claim that the Villans made a play to sign the 22-year-old over the summer. The move failed but they are being tipped to go back in for him again when the January transfer market opens.

Jese has struggled for regular first team game time so far this season, and a report in Spanish publication AS believes that Villa will be expected to make an enquiry into his services again.

However, landing the Spanish under-21 international won’t be easy, as Italian giants Inter Milan and Napoli are both said to be keen (via Metro), while Premier League rivals Arsenal were also credited with an interest earlier this week.

Jese has only featured three times for Real this season, and could well be tempted to move on in January if his chances aren’t improved.
