Bristol City will resume their quest to climb off the bottom of the Championship table when they host Nottingham Forest later tonight.
The Robins have won just one game this season but will head into the clash in confident mood after three draws in their last four games. Draws in their last two games with Ipswich and the MK Dons means the club are aiming to go a third game unbeaten for the first time this season.
The club will also be boosted by the acquisition of Norwich winger Elliott Bennett and Reading striker Simon Cox on loan until 3 January.
The pair could make the match day squad although the earlier signings of Ben Hamer, Liam Moore, Nathan Baker and Callum Robinson could cause problems as clubs are only permitted to name five loanees in any match-day squad.
A win for last season’s League one title winners could see them climb out of the bottom three and they will keen to take advantage of their recent upturn in form and turn draws into wins.
The game also marks the 100th time Steve Cotterill has taken charge of a game as manager of Bristol City.
They face a Forest side that has lost two and drawn one of their last three. The club are 14th in the table, just five points off the bottom although equally they are just two wins from the top 6.
Last time out they lost at home to Hull with Matt Mills sent off adding to the club’s woes. As a result Mills is suspended for the clash with Robins while Eric Lichaj is also suspended for one match after reaching five bookings in 10 games.
The absence of Mills and Lichaj could see Michael Mancienne drop into defence with Jamie Ward coming into midfield.
