Panicked Liverpool fans beg one-goal flop to return after injuries to stars

The season-ending ACL injury to Liverpool forward Danny Ings has understandably sent many Liverpool fans into a panic – especially with it coming just hours after starting defender Joe Gomez suffered an ACL injury of his own. As a result, Reds fans have gone to Twitter to start advocating for a popular flop to be recalled from his loan spell.

According to the Metro, Mario Balotelli has become a very popular man among panicking Liverpool fans, who took to Twitter to beg for his early return from loan to AC Milan and take over for Ings and the injured Christian Benteke.

Mario Balotelli was a big pickup for Liverpool in August 2014 after three straight years with double-digit goals. But he did not fit well under previous manager Brendan Rodgers and scored just once in the Premier League.

Balotelli was sent back to his prior club AC Milan during the 2015 summer transfer window on a loan spell – he recorded a goal in just his 3rd appearance for the Serie A club.

Without Ings and Benteke at full health, the only striker options for Jurgen Klopp are the oft-injured Daniel Sturridge and 20-year-old Divock Origi.
