Arsenal ready to fork out €45m to land Chelsea target

Arsenal have set their sights on Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann according to Spanish source Fichajes.

The 24-year-old has been a big success since leaving Real Sociedad for the Vicente Calderon back in July 2014, the versatile cultured forward netting 25 goals in his debut season in the Spanish capital.

Atletico Madrid paid £24m for Griezmann and this source claims the La Liga side wouldn’t accept anything less than €45m (£33m) for the French international but even that fee may not suffice.

Arsene Wenger has seen his attack springing into life in recent fixtures with Arsenal racking up 11 goals in their last three Premier League matches, with Alexis Sanchez hitting a spectacular run of form and England man Theo Walcott continuing to keep Olivier Giroud out of the starting eleven.

It appears that despite his side getting back into gear Arsene Wenger still feels the addition of Griezmann, a known Chelsea target, would further aid their push to challenge for major honours.
