Chelsea set to send misfiring Radamel Falcao back to Monaco in January

Chelsea are reportedly preparing to send out of form striker Radamel Falcao back to Ligue 1 side Monaco in January, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

Falcao’s form has been the subject of much criticism so far this term as he has struggled to gain a regular foothold in the Chelsea first team despite fitness concerns over Diego Costa and Loic Remy apparently falling out of favour completely.

Recently, the Colombian international was described as an “ex-footballer” by a pundit in his homeland as he was left out of the Chelsea side that overcame Aston Villa at the weekend.

Monaco are hoping to lure him back to the Principality in the new year, having seen his two-year spell in England fail to yield any fruitful results.

During his time on the French south coast he bagged himself a very respectable 13 goals in 24 games before a severe knee injury ruined his chances of making an appearance at last summer’s World Cup.
