Premier League champions Chelsea are set to go up against Arsenal and Barcelona in the race to sign Celta Vigo forward Nolito, according to the Daily Express.
The 29-year-old has caught the eye so far this season by bagging himself six goals in eight appearances, earning himself a call up into Vicente Del Bosque’s Spain squad in the process (via Express).
Arsenal and Barcelona have both been linked with a move for his signature in recent weeks, with The Express even reporting that he would prefer a move to the Premier League over joining up with Barca.
However, Spanish publication El Periodico Mediterraneo has suggested that Chelsea are now ready to make their own move for the player, and are monitoring his form ahead of a potential offer for him in the January transfer window.
Celta currently sit in second place in the La Liga table, on level points with leaders Real Madrid.
