Chelsea eye deal for talented PSG midfielder Javier Pastore

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is said to be weighing up a move for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Javier Pastore, according to the Metro.

The Metro states that the Blues are lacking creatively in the centre of the park this season as Cesc Fabregas struggles to recapture the kind of form he displayed so freely last term.

And now a report in Italian publication Calciomercato has suggested that Mourinho could look to fix that situation by launching a bid for the talented Argentine.

However, Pastore is still under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2019, so any deal to take him to Stamford Bridge isn’t likely to come cheap (via Metro).

The 26-year-old joined the Ligue 1 giants from Italian side Palermo in 2011, and has since gone on to make 175 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals and clocking up 35 assists in the process.

An elegant forward capable of playing across several roles in the attack, Pastore would undoubtedly provide Mourinho with a threat both in terms of goals and in creating them for others.
