Arsenal injury crisis: Midfielder could be set to miss Everton clash this weekend

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger faces a further injury headache this weekend after captain Mikel Arteta injured himself during training this week, the Daily Express reports.

Following the news that Aaron Ramsey faces up to a month on the sidelines having been dragged off during the midweek victory over Bayern Munich, it now looks as though Arteta will add to the club’s woes (via Express).

Ramsey has injured his hamstring, but The Express is reporting that Arteta has damaged his ankle.

“We lost Arteta on Thursday with an ankle problem,” Wenger confirmed.

“From the [Bayern] game we have no injuries but we lost Arteta [in training] yesterday unfortunately.

Arsenal have a packed out injury table at the moment, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck and David Ospina all missing.

Arsenal take on Everton in a 5:30 kick off on Sunday and will be hoping that a victory can restore them back to the top of the table.
