Liverpool could have been handed a boost in the hunt for long-time transfer target Mario Suarez as the player is said to be seeking an exit from Fiorentina during the January transfer window, according to the Metro.
A report in the Daily Star claims that the Reds were once linked with his signature when he was on the books of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, but he opted to make the move to Italy instead.
However, Suarez has not enjoyed as much first team football as he would have liked during his time in Serie A so far, and could now look to make a quick getaway midway through the season (via Metro).
Liverpool will likely look to make some improvements to their midfield in the transfer window, and should the 28-year-old be available, his tough tacking, all action display would make him a perfect suit to the Premier League.
