Struggling Premier League champions Chelsea have been fined £25,000 for poor discipline during their 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the weekend, but could face even further sanctions according to the Daily Express.

Goals from Mauro Zarate and Andy Carroll piled even more misery on The Blues, as Nemanja Matic to himself sent off with five other players picking up yellow cards (via Express).

Matic was booked twice before the break, while Cesar Azpilicueta, Cesc Fabregas, Willian, Diego Costa and Jon Obi Mikel all being got themselves put in the book.

The Express report that an FA spokesman said that the fine was automatic, but the Blues have been asked for their observations on three incidents during the game.

Further punishment could come manager Jose Mourinho’s way, too, as he was sent off at half time by referee John Moss, and even failed to fulfil his obligatory media duties at full time (via Express).
