Manchester United are said to have made contact with the agent of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann ahead of a potential move in the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Metro.
The Metro claims that United are desperate to snap up the 24-year-old France international and have already set the wheels in motion for a deal to be struck in the new year by contacting his representatives.
Griezmann is said to be keen on stepping up to play for a true European giant as his aspirations have apparently outgrown Atletico, according to the Metro.
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the player, with the Daily Express claiming that he has been touted as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that the player’s future lies in the Premier League, alluding to the very real possibility that a deal with an English side could be struck in the near future.
