Agent of Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid transfer target leaves door open for superstar’s exit

Marco Verratti’s agent has insisted that his client is happy at Paris Saint-Germain, despite persistent transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club.

The Italian midfielder has improved dramatically over the last few seasons and has become one of PSG’s key men, despite still being only 22.

Verratti has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past, due to his close relationship with coach Carlo Ancelotti—who has since left the club—while Chelsea and Manchester City have both also been tipped to be considering the midfielder.

Barcelona, who were also rumoured to be close to sealing a deal to sign Paul Pogba this summer, were also understood to be considering a deal for the Italian playmaker.

Speaking to France Football, as per Le 10 Sport, Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli has revealed that his client wants to stay at Paris…but hasn’t wholly closed the door to a departure.

“Marco’s wish is to stay,” Di Campli began, “He is flourishing in Paris and, moreover, the [contract] discussions with the club’s chiefs are leading in this direction.

“The important thing is that his true value is realised.”

Chelsea, who are struggling dramatically in the Premier League this season, could do with a few new faces to inject life in their flagging campaign, and may consider a move for Verratti during the January transfer window in order to give themselves impetus for the second half of the campaign.
