Arsenal target January move for in-form Cologne striker Anthony Modeste

Arsenal are said to be lining up a January move for highly-rated Cologne striker Anthony Modeste, according to the Metro.

The 27-year-old has been in outstanding form in the German top flight so far this term, bagging himself six goals in nine appearances and earning rave reviews in the process (via Metro).

And now a report in Spanish publication Espiritu Deportivo is claiming that Arsenal will make their move for the front man this year as Arsene Wenger is still desperate to add another striker to his ranks.

Though The Gunners have been consistently linked with the likes of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani, making a move for Modeste instead would be just the kind of move that Arsenal fans have grown to expect from Wenger (via Metro).

However, at 6’1, the Frenchman has the necessary build and skill to do well in the Premier League, despite failing to impress during a short spell with Blackburn Rovers back in 2012 (via Metro).
