A key part of their recent form has been the appointment of part-time advisor, Neil Warnock.
The former Hoops manager, sacked in 2012, returned to the club recently to add some experience and knowledge as a compliment to Chris Ramsey.
Eyebrows were raised initially at the appointment however 2 weeks in and with four points on the board courtesy of a draw with Sheffield Wednesday and a win over MK Dons, those doubts have been erased with the players seeing the benefits.
According to Massimo Luongo, the new arrangement is working well with the midfielder, speaking ahead of the game, telling reporters.
“He has eased in slowly until the game last Saturday when he had a voice in the changing room,” he said. “He was giving a lot of advice before the game, at half-time and after the game. After the manager spoke, he gave his two cents worth.
“It is good to get a different opinion and his advice is important because he brings a bit of experience. We take it all on board and it is helping. It is offering something else that makes us think a little bit within the squad.
Brentford have also benefitted from the appointment of new blood with Lee Carsley’s appointment as manager leading to an upsurge in form and 9 points from 9 in their last three games.
Carsley’s achievement have been all the more impressive when you consider his injury list. The former Irish midfielder will be unable to call upon Sam Saunders, Lewis Macleod, Jota, Josh McEachran and Maxime Colin for Friday’s clash.
QPR meanwhile will be boosted by the return of striker Charlie Austin after a month out with a hamstring injury, however winger Jamie Mackie is still absent with a hamstring problem.
