Jose Mourinho: European giants emerge as surprise destination for embattled Chelsea boss

With Chelsea‘s hopes of winning a trophy this seasons slipping away with each passing week, Jose Mourinho could find himself looking for work sooner rather than later. But with his coaching history, he won’t likely wait long.

According to the Metro, a litany of top teams are paying close attention to how things play out at Stamford Bridge, and Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce appear to be the latest suitors for the Portuguese coach.

Fener, with under-pressure manager Vitor Pereira disappointing this season, are not alone in their pursuit of The Special One.  The Metro reported that Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are both ready to bring Mourinho into the fold should he leave London.

Mourinho led Chelsea to the Premier League title and the League Cup last season, but a rough start to the 2015-16 season, combined with his sour attitude towards the FA and elements within his own camp-notably Eva Carneiro-have put his future with the club in serious doubt.

Chelsea’s early departure from the Capital One Cup this season did nothing to help Mourinho’s chances of staying in West London, and defeat at home to Liverpool on Saturday could signal the end of the manager’s time at his beloved club.

Even if the Blues overcome their rivals, it may only be a matter of time before Roman Abramovich pulls the plug on Mourinho’s flagging reign.
