Unnamed Chinese investors plan £2.51bn offer for stake in Manchester United

A consortium of Chinese investors are believed to be preparing to launch a £2.51 billion bid for a stake in Manchester United and have already made contact with club officials, according to the Metro.

The unnamed mystery group are said to have reached out to the Glazer family over the possibility of buying a stake in the club, though it is not yet known how much of a stake they are targeting (via Metro).

The Glazer family completed their take over of the Red Devils back in 2005, but lumped the club with over £700m of debt (via Metro).

And though that debt has been reduced since, the Metro reports that there is still a section of the Old Trafford faithful that are against the Glazers.

However, Forbes values United at around £2.01bn (via Metro) but Chinese publication Titan claims that the mystery investors will pump up £2.51bn for a stake in the club.
