Wilfried Zaha speaks out on rumours about David Moyes’ daughter at Man United

Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has finally had his say about those rumours involving him and David Moyes’ daughter during his time at Manchester United.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, he claims that the rumours had a profound effect on him and ultimately cut short his time at Old Trafford.

Following a bright start to his United career, he quickly found himself languishing on the bench before being sent out on loan to Cardiff City for the second half of the season.

When the rumour surfaced it became an internet sensation, with many believing that it was one of the main reasons why he was dropped by the Scot.

However, Zaha has now revealed that he never even met Moyes’ daughter, let alone slept with her, and furthermore, explains that he never got an explanation from Moyes as to why he was dropped.

“I never even met her (Moyes’ daughter). But as soon as anybody sees me now, people think: Wilfried Zaha, bad attitude. I just don’t understand why. I went through that every single day,” he said.

“Getting constant tweets, people outside making jokes. I just had to take that on knowing that I wasn’t going to play for United either. I lived up there by myself as well so there was not really anybody to speak to.”

Zaha admitted that it wasn’t only his form that suffered, but his mental health as well: “Yes at times I was depressed.

“I felt a lot of things. When I don’t play well nobody needs to say anything to me. I beat myself up. It stresses me out if I mess it up.”
