Manchester United & Arsenal tracking Premier League teenager

Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are eyeing a move for Leicester City’s teenage defender Ben Chilwell.

According to the Daily Mail, the heavyweight pair are eyeing a move for the 18-year-old left-back, who is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in his position in the country.

The full-back has recently been described by Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri as “a very, very good player” [as per Daily Mail], but it remains to be seen how much longer the East Midlands outfit can keep hold of the prodigious youngster.

The youngster made his debut earlier this week in the Capital One Cup match against Hull City, and the source understands that Arsenal had sent scouts to watch the youngster’s progress.

Ranieri, however, appears unwilling to sell the youngster. “It is very important to give a chance to all the youth players,” the Italian manager began, “because they are the future.”

Both United and Arsenal have had problems with the left-back position in recent times.

At the Emirates Stadium, Kieran Gibbs has struggled with injuries for much of his early career, while Ignacio Monreal took his time to adapt to the Premier League—although now appears as a very accomplished option for Arsene Wenger.

At United, an injury suffered by Luke Shaw during the Champions League will rule the England international out for much of this season, and his replacement, Marcos Rojo, has yet to truly convince as a full-back.
