Ex-Man City boss tipped to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea

Sources in Italy suggest that former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is being lined up as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera [as per Le 10 Sport], Mancini is being considered as a potential successor to the beleaguered Portuguese coach, whose career appears to be hanging by a threat at Stamford Bridge.

The Pensioners currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, having won only three and lost six of their opening 10 league matches to date.

It’s a dire start for the reigning champions, and Mourinho has found himself under immense pressure—particularly following consecutive league defeats to West Ham United and Liverpool, as well as the midweek defeat by Stoke City in the Capital One Cup.

According to ESPN, the manager has two matches to save his job, with the Blues welcoming Dynamo Kyiv to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening before travelling away to Stoke City next Saturday.

Mancini, by contrast, has guided Inter Milan to the top of the Serie A, following victory over title rivals AS Roma this weekend.
