Man United keep hold of 16-year-old wonderkid despite £11,000-a-week offer from fierce rivals

Manchester United’s world-famous academy has disappointed in recent years, with the sequel to the glorious Class of ’92 seemingly taking forever to come.

However, there are high hopes that 16-year-old Callum Gribbin could be the real deal and make a big impact at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

The teenage attacking midfielder is the prized asset of United’s current youth team, but the Red Devils almost lost him this summer when local rivals Manchester City came calling.

According to The Mirror, City offered Gribbin £11,000 per week to move across Manchester.

However, he rejected the offer to sign a new deal with the 20-time champions of England.

Gribbin is an scary dribbler who has been compared to club legend Ryan Giggs.
