Joel Campbell’s agent has claimed that the forward is keen to stay at Arsenal to help them collect some more silverware this season, according to the Metro.

The Costa Rican international has been with the club for five years, but during that time has undergone loan spells with the likes of Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal.

Many believed he would be sold on during the coming months, but having scored on his first Premier League start against Swansea last weekend, Joaquim Batica says that the 23-year-old is keen on staying at The Emirates.

“Joel wants to be successful with Arsenal and wants to stay,” Batica said.

“He was very happy after scoring his first Premier League goal. He just wants to be successful and win trophies for Arsenal.

“That’s all he focused on.”

A series of clubs from England, Italy and Spain were all believed to be interested in his signature, but it now appears as though he will be staying put.
