Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed which Manchester United teammates he remains close to as rumours swirl of an Old Trafford return.

In an interview with FHM, the Portuguese superstar listed the following players as those he’s still in contact with, a full six years after he left the club.

“There I was treated in the same way as a son is treated by a father,” the 30-year-old began, remembering his time at Old Trafford under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I had some incredible moments. I’m still in touch with [Rio] Ferdinand, Nani, Anderson, [Nemanja] Vidic, [Patrice] Evra… and with Giggs, who is now the assistant manager. I have some amazing memories.”

Of the aforementioned players, only club legend Giggs remains at the club, although the iconic Welshman’s relationship with the forward may prove critical should Ronaldo be eyeing a return to Old Trafford this summer.

Rumours that Ronaldo will leave the Bernabeu this summer have been intensifying, and while Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on bringing the forward to France, he has also been tipped to return to the Premier League.

Spanish pundit  Guillem Balague has expressed his conviction that Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford, and it is a sentiment supported by the player’s close friend Jose Semedo.
