Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho ADMITS he wants to replace Louis van Gaal at Man United

Under fire Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is said to be keeping an eye on the Manchester United job and is awaiting Louis van Gaal stepping down from the position, the Metro reports.

Mourinho is under pressure with The Blues following their difficult start to the campaign, but was given a rousing display of support by the Stamford Bridge faithful during the midweek Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiev.

However, French publication Le 10 Sport (via Sport Witness) is claiming that Mourinho could be taking over their reigns at Old Trafford next summer as he is keen on landing the position.

Mourinho has previously been linked with the Red Devils job when Sir Alex Ferguson left, but eventually lost out to David Moyes instead.

United’s owners are said to be left unconvinced by van Gaal and fans aren’t said to be keen on his brand of possession based football.

United are currently 11 places above Chelsea in the table, though it doesn’t seem likely that they will end the Dutchman’s contract before it expires.
