Liverpool eye approach for Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar

Liverpool are said to be interested in making a move for powerful Fiorentina forward Khouma Babacar during the January transfer window, according to the Metro.

Despite Christian Benteke recently returning to the starting line up, the Metro claims that The Reds are in need of more firepower up front thanks to long term injuries keeping Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings from leading the line, while Divock Origi has failed to impress when he has featured.

And now a report on talkSPORT suggests that Liverpool are targeting a move for the Senegalese international, who has averaged a goal for every start he’s made in Serie A so far this season.

The Metro also claim that the 22-year-old himself is keen on a move to the Premier League. Tottenham are also believed to be interested as they look to reduce their over-reliance on striker Harry Kane.
