Kath Shawcross, the wife of Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross, posted a cryptic tweet on Saturday night following the Potter’s 1-0 win over Chelsea.
The photo, which depicted the Stoke centre-back clutching a can of Dove deodorant, accompanied the image with the simple like “Made sure @Ryanshawy put his deodorant on this evening.”

It’s hard to begin to know what the Cheshire-based makeup artist meant by this odd revelation about her husband’s hygiene, nor what to think of the defender’s dazed smile in the photo.
Is Shawcross a persistent fouler when it comes to sidestepping the deodorant?

Were the trials and tribulations of an afternoon against Chelsea so stressful that Shawcross needed extra smell-reduction on Saturday? We suspect not.
Or did the prospect of 90 minutes spent in close contact with Diego Costa provoke exceptional transpiration production for the defender?
Either way, we’d rather Kath kept it to herself in future.
