According to the Daily Mirror, Townsend could attract interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester City, Swansea City and West Brom if he does leave north London.
The 24-year-old has previously been a key player for Tottenham, though he has featured less regularly in recent times due to increased competition for places in the squad.
